Position Summary The Rental Services Dispatcher coordinates the daily delivery and pickup of rental equipment to and from customer job sites, ensuring safety, timeliness, and efficiency. This role also supports inside sales operations and manages logistics using both internal fleet and external vendors. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Promote and maintain a safety-first culture across all operations. Enforce PPE usage and safety protocols. Conduct and document weekly toolbox talks and safety audits. Ensure compliance with ANSI, DOT, IFTA, and local regulations. Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures, hazardous materials, and safety equipment. Dispatch & Logistics Schedule and manage equipment deliveries, pickups, and inter-branch transfers. Monitor driver paperwork (DVIRs, contracts, condition reports). Ensure accurate documentation for rental and sales transactions. Optimize routes and loads for efficiency and compliance. Coordinate with customers to secure equipment until pickup. Customer & Sales Support Serve as backup for inside sales during peak times. Assist with quoting freight rates and securing signed contracts. Maintain communication with customers, branches, and service teams. Vendor & Inventory Management Build relationships with local and out-of-state transport vendors. Track and manage company assets and rental inventory. Driver Oversight Supervise and support drivers to ensure on-time, safe deliveries. Review and approve driver time records. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback. Qualifications
Required: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or college education preferred. 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment or construction industry. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and fleet logistics. Mechanical and technical aptitude. Preferred:
Familiarity with local geography and mapping tools. Experience with Microsoft Office and web-based applications. Skills & Abilities Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Understanding of equipment specs, load safety, and dispatch metrics.
