The Office of Fiscal Strategy is organized into four divisions: Finance : Ensures school and central services finances are allocated and expended in alignment with the agencys strategic plan, in a manner that fosters transparency, maximizes funds, promotes equity, and ensures compliance with requirements. Contracts & Acquisitions :Provides procurement services to schools and Central Services programs through contract and purchase order processes in alignment with District and Federal procurement laws and regulations.Manages and facilitates the procurement of goods and services for all DCPS schools and central services, thatfosters transparency, maximizes buying power, promotes equity of spending with local vendors, and ensures compliance with contractual requirements. Operational Finance (Core): Works to improve organizational effectiveness and to ensure daily fiscal operations are managed efficiently across DCPS. The Operational Finance Team advocates for DCPS programs and schools by shepherding collaboration with procurement, budget, and HR teams. Operational Finance provides oversight to ensure equitable, transparent, and compliant personnel and non-personnel spending through quality customer service. Fiscal Operations Systems: Supports schools and central services by leading OFSs efforts to design efficient and effective operational finance structures and processes. Promotes agency financial data literacy by leading finance data visualization initiatives that equip DCPS stakeholders with comprehensive information. The Coordinator, Fiscal Operations Systems supports the development and maintenance of operational finance and procurement structures and processes. The Coordinator will provide administrative oversight and support for the procurement platform and special procurement approval processes such as travel, food, and swag. The Coordinator will collaborate with colleagues to identify challenges in existing systems and propose approaches to improvement. The Coordinator also performs fiscal analysis, research, and other duties as assigned to support district initiatives, communications, and reporting. The Coordinator, Fiscal Operations Systems will report to the Director, Fiscal Operations Systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. Facilitates feedback opportunities for existing fiscal systems; compiles and organizes feedback to inform fiscal system design. Develops and disseminates communication to internal stakeholders in the form of presentations, memos, and reporting to support DCPS fiscal initiatives. Works closely with the Manager, Fiscal Data Visualization, to support visualization projects. Oversees DCPS procurement platform(s), including user maintenance, approval mapping, and system integration. Provides technical support to procurement platform users; develops and maintains guidance resources for technical support. Oversees DCPS special procurement approval platforms and processes, such as employee travel, employee food, and promotional materials. Prioritizes Fiscal Operations Systems divisions collaboration across the Office of Fiscal Strategies, building relationships and identifying opportunities to streamline efforts. Responds to fiscal reporting and data requests and develops systemic approaches to recurring requests. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two to four years of related work experience. Master's degree preferred. Previous exposure to or experience in the education sector a plus.Previous experience in finance or procurement a plus. Proven track record in managing and coordinating complex projects.Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and proactively communicate and prioritize in response to change. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build connections across teams. Demonstrable, advanced data reporting skills using Excel and/or other data tools.Experience with DC government fiscal systems and/or ServiceNow preferred.
