Process Manager Position Overview
The
Process Shift Supervisor
leads shift personnel in converting sugar beets into sugar, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient operations. This hands-on leadership role involves coordinating processing activities, mentoring team members, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. You will spend
up to 80% of your time on the factory floor , actively engaging with staff, troubleshooting, and driving performance. Key Responsibilities
Champion safety and cleanliness across the plant. Lead, plan, and direct shift operations and personnel. Monitor performance and quality of sugar beet processing. Train and mentor operators for productivity and skill development. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and other supervisors. Support continuous improvement using KPIs, Lean, and root cause analysis. Ensure availability of processing supplies and preventative maintenance practices. Maintain clear communication across all organizational levels. Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Experience:
5–10 years in processing, but open to less if education aligns. Supervisory experience in industrial or food manufacturing is strongly valued. Strong mechanical and chemical aptitude or willingness to learn. Familiarity with safety, quality systems, and continuous improvement tools. Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and planning skills. Willing to work 40+ hours/week and weekends as needed. Ideal Candidate Traits
