Reporting & Scope
Reports directly to the CEO Acts as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership Leads HR strategy, integration of acquisitions, cultural alignment, and talent planning across multiple locations and jurisdictions
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute a multi-year human capital strategy aligned with organizational growth objectives, including workforce planning and HR technology investments. Talent Acquisition & Development: Lead recruitment and onboarding strategies for field technicians and skilled trades professionals. Build scalable training programs to accelerate technical proficiency and career growth. M&A Integration: Drive HR due diligence and post-acquisition integration—including cultural alignment, policy harmonization, and seamless employee transitions. HR Operations & Service Delivery: Establish a high-performing HR operating model that supports both transactional excellence and strategic initiatives across talent, compensation, employee relations, and systems. Performance & Talent Management: Deploy user-friendly tools for performance management and talent reviews. Create clear development paths for leaders and field employees alike. Culture & Engagement: Champion a strong, inclusive workplace culture through proactive employee relations and engagement programs. Foster a high-performance, high-retention environment. HR Technology: Oversee the implementation of scalable, integrated HR technology solutions to support growth and operational efficiency. Leadership & Coaching: Build and lead a high-impact HR team while providing guidance to managers across the organization to strengthen people leadership capabilities. Change Management: Lead the people aspect of change initiatives, including restructuring, acquisitions, new system rollouts, and company-wide programs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Qualifications
15+ years of progressive HR leadership, preferably within multi-site, field-based, or skilled trades industries Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian employment laws and compliance requirements Experience managing a non-union workforce across geographically dispersed operations Expertise in benefits design, compensation planning, and incentive program development Proven track record in leading HR functions through M&A activity and successful post-merger integration Demonstrated ability to build scalable HR service delivery models and drive organizational effectiveness
