Description
The Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Temporary/Seasonal Office Assistant to support the Business Office. Under the direction of the Business Coordinator or their designee, the Office Assistant will perform a variety of administrative tasks and provide project support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide general office support, including answering phones and assisting the public with a variety of transactions.
- Prepare and issue invoices to residents for municipal services and fees
- Collect and reconcile payments from residents for various public services
- Support basic accounting functions and office operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working as part of a team and interacting with the public.
- Positive, professional attitude and willingness to work with residents, staff, students, faculty, and volunteers.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Prior experience in an office or administrative setting is desirable.
