Manager of Furniture Product Development
who will ensure the successful execution of the product development process, delivering exquisite furniture rental products on time while meeting design, quality, and value goals. The Manager oversees the entire product lifecycle up to order placement and ongoing product performance. This role involves leading communication with vendors and overseas sources, driving adherence to timelines, and ensuring cross-functional alignment. What You’ll Do
Research and Analysis:
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and industry developments. Analyze competitor offerings and market gaps to inform product development strategies.
Conceptualization and Design:
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to generate product ideas and concepts. Translate conceptual ideas into tangible prototypes, considering materials, color schemes, and design development.
Product Development:
Lead the product development lifecycle from inception to order placement, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. Manage communication with vendors and overseas suppliers. Ensure launch timelines and alignment across cross-functional teams. Provide guidance to Sales, Production, and Marketing teams on product-related matters. Maintain attention to detail and a commitment to on-time project completion. Adapt to changing business needs and efficiently manage multiple tasks.
Quality Assurance:
Establish quality standards and specifications for all furniture products, conducting testing and evaluations. Address quality issues or production challenges to uphold product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with Sales and Marketing to develop product messaging, promotional materials, and sales strategies. Provide product training and support to internal stakeholders and external partners.
Qualifications
3-6 years of product development and management experience, preferably in furniture or home goods. 4+ years of college education; degrees in furniture design, merchandising, or interior design are preferred. Strong understanding of product budgeting, performance requirements, materials, and production processes. Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships with a service-oriented approach. Independent, self-motivated, capable of acting as an owner in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills with experience resolving complex issues with domestic and international partners.
