Exciting opportunity for a Senior Application Engineer to join an industry-leading fastener manufacturer. We're looking for an experienced professional to lead complex technical initiatives, support strategic customer relationships, and mentor junior engineering talent.
This high-impact role offers a flexible remote work arrangement with regular U.S. travel to customer and company locations. Responsibilities:
Act as a technical liaison to customers and suppliers, delivering in-depth product knowledge, testing support, and engineering guidance. Lead strategic engineering projects and operating plan initiatives, including cost-saving efforts and application improvements. Prepare and deliver effective technical reports and presentations for internal and external audiences. Mentor junior engineers, support training programs, and contribute to team development. Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, quality, and account management to drive project success and customer satisfaction. Analyze complex application problems, propose solutions, and influence outcomes. Support both internal teams and customer-facing training initiatives related to fasteners and fastening technologies. Demonstrate flexibility in workload and scheduling in response to evolving business needs. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or 10+ years of relevant fastener application engineering experience. 8+ years of fastener/fastening experience in technical and customer-facing roles. Strong command of mechanical engineering principles and hands-on mechanical aptitude. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER) is a plus. Proven ability to work independently and manage high-level projects with minimal supervision. Experienced in project management, time management, and technical problem-solving. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Willing to travel up to 40%, including overnight trips.
