Position Summary The Vice President, People Operations thrives in the details and is ready to zoom out and own a broader scope of work. In this role, you will manage and improve the systems, processes, and policies that support our employees every day, especially in the areas of benefits, employee relations, technology, and compliance. Responsibilities People Operations Execution & Improvement Own the day-to-day management of People Ops services, including HRIS data integrity, employee documentation, and employee services. Continuously improve People processes and workflows to ensure they are scalable, efficient, and employee friendly. Serve as point person for People compliance requirements, including audits and reporting. Benefits & Leave Program Management Manage employee benefits programs and leave of absence processes, partnering with vendors and brokers. Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements (COBRA, FMLA, ACA, etc.). Lead annual open enrollment and employee education on benefits. Employee Relations & Manager Support Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations issues, conducting investigations and supporting performance conversations. Coach managers on documentation, corrective action, and how to lead through complexity with fairness. Track and analyze employee relations trends to inform policy updates and manager training needs. Manage and optimize the HRIS and its linkages to People systems, ensuring data accuracy and an exceptional user experience. Partner with IT or vendors on implementations or upgrades and train employees on tool usage. Policy, Compliance & Reporting Maintain People policies and employee handbook in alignment with company culture and legal requirements. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Produce standard reports and dashboards to monitor key People metrics and support decision-making. Position Requirements 7+ years of experience in HR/People Operations with a strong focus on benefits, compliance, and employee relations SHRM certification preferred but not mandatory Demonstrated ability to build and improve processes while juggling operational needs Familiarity with employment laws and regulatory requirements (FMLA, ADA, ERISA, etc.) Experience managing or heavily using an HRIS platform (e.g., Paylocity, BambooHR, ADP, etc.) High attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information. Strong written and verbal communication skills About You: This role is perfect for a strong operator who has led execution across a few People functions and is now eager to step into a broader role.
