Human Resources Generalist

with a strong background in

HR compliance . This role will play a vital part in supporting day-to-day HR functions, ensuring compliance with federal and California employment laws, and contributing to a positive and high-performing workplace. Note:

Strong and recent

HR experience is required

for this position. Key Responsibilities HR Operations & Compliance Maintain and manage employee records and HRIS systems (e.g., Sage HRMS) Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws, including CA-specific regulations Handle onboarding and offboarding, including preparation of new hire packets and termination documentation Administer and track mandatory compliance training (e.g., workplace safety, harassment prevention) Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and employee handbook Respond to employee verification requests and ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping Benefits Administration Oversee benefits enrollment, open enrollment periods, and COBRA communications Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers Administer retirement plan enrollments and provide ongoing employee education Maintain benefit systems and data (e.g., Ease software) Leave Management Administer and track leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, etc.) Coordinate benefit continuation during leaves Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all leave cases Work closely with payroll to coordinate time-off accruals and adjustments Workers Compensation Serve as point of contact for workplace injuries File workers compensation claims and work with carrier and injured employees Develop return-to-work plans in coordination with field supervisors Recruitment & Onboarding Support the hiring process by scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, and preparing job offers Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations Track and follow up on employee check-ins and probationary reviews Performance Management & Training Assist in the administration of annual performance review cycles Help develop and maintain internal training and development programs Track employee certifications, training deadlines, and completions Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of HR generalist experience with progressive responsibilities Minimum 3 years handling confidential HR and personnel matters Strong knowledge of California labor law, HR compliance, and best practices High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and manage HRIS and benefits platforms Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with

Sage HRMS

and
