Data Coordinator & Research Analyst
This position exists to process, analyze, certify, and report data to improve effectiveness and efficiency and comply with state, federal, and external accrediting requirements. Job duties include: Reporting data in prescribed formats to external government agencies. Designing, preparing, and conducting statistical analyses according to informational needs and institutional priorities. Interpreting and summarizing results in reports and presentations. Providing data that will be used for multiple SU, state, and USM assessment and accountability initiatives. Monitoring the progress of research plans and projects in relation to institutional planning and assessment. Preparing data files using spreadsheets, SPSS, or other reports in a format conducive to advanced decision-making, including dashboards. Verifying and inputting all data into IPEDS, including writing SPSS syntax to extract the necessary data from large data files. This position serves as a first level of data review and works closely with IT to update and verify data extracts. This position routinely works with highly sensitive data, in large volumes, requiring meticulous attention to detail. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Institutional Research and has no budget authority. Required/Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, social science, educational research, statistics, data sciences, database management) 3 years of experience. Proficiency with Excel. Experience with basic statistics and database/spreadsheet management. Detail oriented Ability to multi-task Strong oral and written communication skills 100% of work will be ON CAMPUS Must be available to start by July 18, 2025 Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience Proficiency with SPSS Experience working in education Experience with PeopleSoft or Workday The position is a full-time, exempt state role with comprehensive benefits.
