POSITION TITLE:
Systems Support Specialist II
STATUS:
260-Day Employee / Non-Exempt

Director of Technology
POSITION SUMMARY:
An IT 2 - Systems Support Specialist II provides internal support for employees and students. Candidates should have a mix of technical and customer service skills, and be passionate about helping people. Fox C-6 supports Chromebooks, PCs, Apple devices, printers, copiers, and a wide array of classroom technologies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Act as primary contact for building level technology support at assigned locations. Ensure timely resolution of outstanding support requests. Provide support and repair for staff devices (laptops, desktops, projectors, tvs, etc.). Provide support and repair for student devices (Chromebooks, computer labs, etc.). Routine installation or updating of various software packages. Basic support for VOIP phone systems. Basic network cable installation and termination. Basic printer installation and support. Assist with security camera/door access installation and maintenance. Help maintain district technology supply levels. Ensure district asset accountability by maintaining accurate inventory. Ensure district Cyber Security by adhering to established security policies. Provide tier II support for escalated service requests. Provide assistance to IT Support III and above as needed. Maintain good relationships with District staff while providing excellent customer service. Mentor System Support Specialist I and Student Worker roles. Other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Solid understanding of computers, networks and software applications. Strong problem-solving and technical support skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Experience with Microsoft Windows environments preferred. Experience with educational software and devices preferred. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Missouri driver licence. High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work setting involves performance in an environment with various levels of staff to supervise and the accomplishment of tasks that are often interrupted by persons with special and/or immediate needs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see, hear, and utilize manual dexterity. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception. The employee must independently transport him/herself to various sites in the District as well as other sites out of the District for various types of meetings and events.
