This quality engineering position is responsible for understanding customer feedback and driving quality improvement in the manufacturing process. Areas of focus include: quality improvement, customer satisfaction, project support, and ensuring product conformance to specification and performance standards. Primary responsibilities include: Provide quality leadership for value stream/product lines including quality systems, data analysis, project prioritization and project management. Possess ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving. Owning the quality metrics of the production line. PDCA, A3, DOE, 5-Why, Fish Bone Diagram, Lean Sigma, DMAIC. Expertise in both using and coaching others in approaches. Strong knowledge of quality management and lean manufacturing principles. Document control, product and process qualification, and audit processes. Error Proofing, Eyes for Waste, Visual Management. Ability to gather and analyze data through statistical techniques. Usage of computer software tools, such as Excel or Minitab, to analyze data to detect trends and abnormalities. Understand tolerance stack up and relation to process capability. Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards and convert into manufacturing control plans and work instructions. Responsibility for PSW requests, First Article, and PPAP submittals for new product development projects. Perform and analyze fabrication and assembly equipment process capability studies. Participating in gauge procurement and design reviews. Participating in equipment design reviews. Developing process validation plans and documenting results. Implementing SPC within the production line. Approving engineering change requests or PLM's. Leading and participating in Process Failure Mode and Affect Analysis (PFMEA) and dimensional engineering strategies. Qualifications and skills: BS degree in Engineering or Technology. 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing, continuous process environment required. Functional AutoCad skills and geometric tolerancing. Knowledge of PFMEA, quality programs, SPC, process capability and lean manufacturing principles. Working knowledge of measurement tools and systems.
