Position Summary: Shepherd Electric Supply, a leading Wholesale Distributor since 1892, headquartered in Baltimore with locations in Laurel and Frederick, MD; Washington DC, Sterling VA and Richmond VA, is seeking a highly motivated individual for our growing Project Management team within our Department. The ideal candidate is solutions oriented, customer focused, highly motivated, team oriented, and meets deadlines. Candidates that are curious, desire to build relationships and are driven by team successes will succeed. Essential Functions: Manages, plans, and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters Creates agendas and presentations to lead project meetings Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects Works in a team environment, closely with the Sales team to manage and to lead projects Anticipates customer needs and proactively communicates them Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors as needed to support successful project completions and transitions to operational status Champions continuous improvement in relation to the effective implementation of project management processes across all Shepherd departments Desires to gain technical expertise to assist customers with identifying parts, providing quotes and processing orders Builds and maintains customer relationships through outstanding customer service Typical Functions: Confers with project team to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority Directs and coordinates vendors and customers to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required Prepares project reports for management, client, or others Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems Travels occasionally within market to customer offices, events, and construction sites Travels occasionally to manufacturers for project meetings and trainings Skills and Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent documented experience and skills Self-motivated and results focused Ability to work on multiple tasks, or projects, simultaneously Experience in Microsoft products, specifically Excel, Word, Office 365, and Eclipse Demonstrates professional attitude, conduct and appearance Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication Professional and pleasant phone demeanor 1
3 year's experience in Electrical industry preferred Compensation Details: The expected starting rate of pay for this position is $60,000 annually depending on experience.
