Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and patient-focused
Medical Front Desk Receptionist
to join our busy
orthopedic practice
in Kingston, NY. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service, managing administrative tasks, and supporting the daily operations of the clinic.
Key Responsibilities: Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner
Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals accurately using our EMR system
Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary pre-authorizations
Collect co-pays and patient balances, and manage daily cash reconciliation
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation
Coordinate communication between patients, medical staff, and external providers
Prepare and manage medical forms, consent forms, and other documentation
Keep the reception area clean and organized
Assist with other administrative and clerical tasks as needed Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or certification in medical office administration is a plus
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or receptionist role (orthopedic or specialty practice preferred)
Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance procedures, and HIPAA compliance
Proficiency in using EMR systems (eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, or similar)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Friendly, compassionate, and professional demeanor
