Supervise program participants to ensure their physical, emotional, and psychological safety Know and implement elements of positive youth development so that youth make informed decisions and build resiliency Consistently set and enforce rules and expectations throughout programming Use assessment skills and screening tools in collaboration with youth, families, and community partners as applicable to establish and track goodness of fit and make appropriate internal and external recommendations and referrals for services Demonstrate strong and effective crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques and provide appropriate referrals in response to intake, crisis and support calls, drop-ins, residents, families, and community members Support youth to enhance their education, vocation, relationships and communication, independent living skills, physical health, mental health, and more Plan, schedule and lead life skills workshops with youth that promote the development of independent living skills and self-sufficiency Assist and set up volunteers and outside agencies to conduct special events and workshops with YFS youth Maintain and update daily documentation and record keeping including client demographics, case notes, file maintenance, contracts, and service records Attend regularly scheduled meetings to discuss program updates, report on cases, and identify service delivery needs Support with daily supervision of youth including meal preparation, transportation to medical appointments, scheduled outings, and uphold the daily schedule Effectively work in a team-based care model to ensure youth receive well-rounded, consistent, and coordinated support Implement program assessments with youth to help guide the creation and review of their Individualized Service Plan and Self Care Support Plan and track progress made throughout treatment Maintain working knowledge of local community resources and provide youth with referrals to other agencies for services when appropriate Assist with presentations to other community members/agencies to increase awareness and community understanding of all branch programs Demonstrate effective professional boundaries, self-care measures, and seek support from direct supervisors when in need of assistance, additional trainings, or accommodations Comply with mandated reporting including timely verbal and written notice to age-appropriate Welfare Services and documentation in organization's risk management software Report all accidents and unusual incidents based on the Channel Islands YMCA incident reporting process within 24 hours to management team and assist with necessary documentation Understand, follow, and enforce all YMCA policies regarding safety, including emergency procedures and responding promptly and when necessary Complete daily facility maintenance checks including but not limited to inspecting, cleaning, and disinfecting of the facility and company vehicle Residential Program
Facilitate daily structured activities, one-on-one check-ins with resident and drop-in youth, family meetings, and follow-up meetings and calls to identify additional areas of need or support that promote positive youth development Respond to and manage the 24-hour crisis line and drop-in center Identify and prepare healthy and nutritious meals to residents and drop-in clients, engaging them in the cooking process to promote healthy communication and independent living skills Assist youth with scheduling of and provide safe transportation to medical appointments and other required health and supportive services Transitional Aged Youth Program
Support a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment at the drop-in center, assist youth with basic needs, support services, and appropriate referrals Effectively utilize the Santa Barbara County Homeless Management Information System through daily collection and tracking of demographic data to be used for completing program requirements and required reports Perform street-based outreach, walking/traveling specified routes to locate and engage with at-risk youth to offer supportive services and immediate resources Assist with high-urgency and complex housing navigation, search, renal assistance and landlord recruitment efforts Transitional Housing Placement Program
Provide coordination of case management services to youth in the program Support a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment at the facility, assist youth with basic needs, support services, and appropriate referrals Coordinate and participate in regularly scheduled meetings with the THPP Director, assigned Social Worker and treatment team to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to client support Our Commitment to Belonging

Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old High School Diploma or equivalent Associate's degree in related field preferred 2+ years' previous work-related experience preferred Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance Ability to participate in DMV Pull Program preferred
