Sr. Human Resources Generalist
The location in Rothschild, (Wisconsin, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Senior Human Resources Generalist. This job is full-time permanent. Performs HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Manager in supporting corporate/mill needs. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: training, employee and labor relations, performance management, on-boarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance. Key Responsibilities Take a hands-on approach to managing the day-to-day operational aspects of HR including position management, staffing/planning, headcount activity and turnover. Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment encouraging the full use of diverse talents and abilities. Maintain close contact with the leadership team to ensure alignment with corporate and site goals/mission. Manage specific projects as determined in the HR planning process and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives. Act as an adviser and coach to managers and employees providing Human Resources expertise in implementing business initiatives and promoting employee engagement. Act as an adviser to managers on our labor contract and handle labor relations issues with employees. Perform recruitment tasks to successfully meet mill goals for staffing hourly and salaried positions and succession planning. Required Education/Professional Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive human resources experience Labor relations experience in a union environment is required Ability to build relationships and influence others Strong analytical, critical thinking, creative problem solving, judgement and negotiation skills. Critical competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent facilitation skills, ability to prepare clear and concise materials to deliver formal presentation High degree of personal integrity in all business dealings High positive energy to take on continuous and complex business challenges in a fast-paced environment Persistence to drive to solutions despite obstacles and/or competing priorities A great team player with a great attitude, good customer service orientation, and focused on delivering outstanding results to their clients and the business, overall Attentive to detail and demonstrated ability to deliver on accountabilities in order to help the business and the team be successful You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).
