Associate Director of Internal Controls
to lead compliance and internal controls initiatives in alignment with US GAAP and IFRS standards. This high-impact role will oversee control frameworks, testing, and audit coordination, while contributing to ongoing system implementation and process improvement projects. Responsibilities: Drive all internal control activities within the US operations, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). Educate and support cross-functional teams in fulfilling internal control requirements. Design, implement, and monitor testing procedures to evaluate control effectiveness. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process flowcharts and key control narratives. Conduct entity-level control reviews and facilitate communication with both internal and external auditors. Support ERP (e.g., S4/Hana) implementation and automation initiatives with a control-compliance lens. Maintain control deficiency logs and lead remediation tracking on a quarterly basis. Contribute to corporate responsibility reporting controls and handle various ad hoc compliance-related projects. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or internal audit. At least 5 years of direct experience in US GAAP, SOX compliance, or SEC reporting. CPA certification preferred; experience in public accounting or a publicly traded company is a plus. Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, internal audit processes, and regulatory standards. Background in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or a related industry strongly preferred. Skilled in Microsoft Office and internal control testing platforms. Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
