System Design Engineering Intern

As a System Design Engineering Intern within the System Engineering and Test Capabilities Center, you will interface with the customer to develop CONOPS, system architecture, system requirements and manage qualification, verification, and validation. You will also perform functional / physical analysis, allocation, and trade studies. You will support engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle. Through Digital Transformation (DTx) you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development. This position can be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below: Sophomore Technical Intern: Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Sophomore by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment Junior Technical Intern: Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment Senior Technical Intern: Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment Post-Graduate Technical Intern: Must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship. This position is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. What You Will Do: Requirements decomposition and lower tier requirements derivation for the system. Requirements development and maturation to include subsystem and component level. Develop system architectures that meet the system performance and interface requirements. Perform trade studies on the best solutions to develop the system. Establish verification and validation techniques for requirements at all indentureships of complex systems to include application of simulation, testing, analysis, and demonstration. Qualifications You Must Have: Must be pursuing a BS (or higher) degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Math, Engineering Science, Robotics, or related scientific or STEM discipline Matlab and/or C++ experience Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. Employment is contingent on other factors, including but not limited to, background checks and drug screens. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
