MRI Technologist
Jefferson's in-house temporary service, JeffTemps, is seeking qualified MRI Technologists to fill a variety of temporary positions. Under the supervision of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs a variety of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and scanners to produce detailed tissue images for medical diagnosis. Prepares pertinent information for physician and care team's review, and delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures. Essential Functions: Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Processes and evaluates the technical quality of images, such as density contrast, definition, and distortion. Maintains critical positioning of the patient and equipment during flow of the contrast media to ensure safety of the patient and success of examination results. Instructs patients on body positioning procedures during MRI exams and testing; demonstrates effective communication with all patients by explaining the MRI procedure both before and after scanning, and answers all patient questions. Determines equipment requirements for procedures based on the physician's tentative diagnoses, and scout films necessary for physician's preliminary viewing. Maintains MRI equipment by performing scheduled cleaning, testing, and documenting results; notifies supervision of malfunctioning equipment. Implements MRI safety guidelines and conducts proper MRI safety during the imaging process. Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor, or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control. Other duties as assigned.
