The Director of Financial Clinical Services will support the O'Donnell Brain Institute by leading financial operations across multidisciplinary areas, including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Psychiatry. This role provides strategic financial leadership and direction to senior leadership and is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing financial functions such as budgeting, billing, coding, accounting, and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring healthcare financial expertise and a proactive approach to supporting UT Southwestern's continued growth and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Experience and Education
Required: Education: Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Management
OR a Bachelor's degree in one of the above fields with 2 additional years of directly related experience
Experience: 8 years of progressively responsible financial management experience in an academic medical center, hospital, or clinic environment
Experience managing extramural research projects
Supervisory/managerial experience
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage operating budgets for clinical, academic, and research operations
Build and maintain the financial infrastructure to support the Clinical Service Line
Collaborate with Finance teams on budgeting, planning, and reconciliation of endowment support
Partner with Health System planning and Clinical Service Line leadership to monitor financial performance and strategic goals
Support clinic financial operations, including billing, coding, and revenue cycle management
Coordinate and review monthly income statements for clinical programs
Develop systems for multi-departmental review and reconciliation of jointly appointed personnel
Monitor and manage expenditures, including M&O and staffing costs
Develop strategies to improve the financial performance of clinical operations
Create and review monthly and ad hoc financial reports with senior leadership and faculty
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and audits related to financial operations
Oversee administrative functions such as payroll, purchasing, and membership approvals
Supervise managers and professional staff supporting financial operations
Perform other duties as assigned
