American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Family Birthing Center with night shifts and advanced certification requirements.Job Details•Work in the Family Birthing Center within an acute care hospital setting,•Primary coverage for Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and OB patients,•Patient ratios are 1:2 in L&D, 1:1 during active delivery, and 1:4 for postpartum couplets,•Typical patient mix includes term and preterm deliveries, couplets, and general GYN; no high-risk patients, with mothers under 34 weeks transferred,•Shift is 12 hours, nights (1845-0715), with every other weekend required,•Schedules are posted 6 weeks in advance and self-scheduling is not available,•EMR system used is Cerner,•Floating is not required outside L&D or Mother-Baby units,•Scrub color is provided,Job Requirements•Active RN license (State or Compact); pending licenses not accepted,•Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required,•Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring,•Must have 2 professional references: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years,•Copy of driver's license is required for consideration,•Completion of facility-mandated pre-employment clinical tests and orientation modules,•Candidates may not have worked for any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past 12 months,Additional Information•Participate in approximately 45 deliveries per month as part of a team with 2 RNs and 1 Respiratory Therapist present for each delivery,•No nurse aides are available during shifts; greater independence and emergency readiness required at night,•Obstetrician and anesthesia coverage is on-call at night,•Pharmacy is available on-call after hours for medication orders and deliveries,•Expect to work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) per unit practices,•Orientation includes 2-3 days precepted on the unit,•Schedules can be accessed remotely; extra shifts and trades may be arranged,•All RNs must pass a sterile technique competency for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change during orientation,•No block scheduling is available,),•hash,:•11806504722863181810,
