Requirements
- Maintains a valid license certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with federal, state and local regulations
- CPR certification preferred
- Minimum of one year of geriatrics experience is preferred, especially within a Memory Care or Dementia care setting.
- Knowledge and experience in bedside nursing are preferred.
- Compassionate, patient, and caring demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Provide compassionate care to residents in our Memory Care unit, promoting dignity and comfort.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Document patient care and observations according to VHRC standards and regulations.
- Provide support and companionship to residents, promoting social interaction and mental engagement.
- Assist with recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance residents' well-being and cognitive health.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents by adhering to safety protocols and infection control practices.
- Respond promptly to residents' needs and provide support in emergency situations when necessary.
