Field Application Engineer Control Systems & IIoT

The Field Application Engineer - Control Systems & IIoT leverages their application experience in the areas of automation and control to develop new business for Phoenix Contact. This position is responsible to develop sales opportunities for Phoenix Contact control and HMI products into revenue-generating customers. Additionally, the role acts as the sales leadership for Phoenix Contact's IIoT value proposition delivery to internal field sales roles, rep partners, distribution partners, and customers. This position supports the creation and support of the Phoenix Contact IIoT ecosystem including Cloud providers, complementary software partners, and specialized integration and service companies. This role is responsible for Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma plus the possibility of additional states. Responsibilities Meet/exceed Control and IIoT related sales growth objectives as established by your manager. Take direction from Snr. IIoT Solutions BDM to actively develop new IIoT ecosystem partners. Act as IIoT/Digitalization ambassador in your territory. Take lead in training PxC Sales and channel partners in PxC IIoT value proposition and offering. Be proficient in R3/BASE selling skills and implement to build strong customer relationships. Utilize Pivotal CRM as the primary customer planning, reporting, measurement, and opportunity tracking tool. Be proficient in, and drive the use of all sales tools provided to support local markets. Active involvement in industry related associations, as well as distributor, and customer events. Demonstrate technical competence on all products/solutions within area of focus. Maintain all corporate policies, procedures, and programs including quotations, lead follow-up, and timely reporting. Work independently to manage and develop channel partners through utilization of joint sales activities, trainings, and mutual action plans. Where applicable, work with Key Account Management and Harrisburg Marketing to implement global/national account strategies in order to achieve program objectives. Qualifications Four-year degree required. Engineering degree preferred. Strong understanding of industrial automation systems Strong background in PLC programming and operation High level language and Linux programming experience desired. Knowledge of cloud architecture as related to IIoT applications desired. Strong understanding of IIoT/ Industry 4.0/ Smart Factory Demonstrated knowledge of Phoenix Contact's business solutions. Superior computer skills and Windows based applications (Word, Excel, PP) Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Polished presentation skills. Has a track record of achieving higher than expected sales performance. Strong business development skills Exceeding expectations of sales calls and opportunity creation. Exhibit leadership skills within given territory assignment Experience in working with distributors preferred. Essential Job Functions Must be able to travel via airplane. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs (sample, demos, literature) Must be able to travel overnight 25-30% + or as dictated by assigned territory. Comply with company dress code guidelines.
