Financial Planner Wealth Management

Under the direction of the Manager, this role is responsible for preparing and delivering comprehensive financial and estate planning solutions and advice to clients of Bank of Hawaii wealth management. This position also contributes to process improvements that enhance departmental and organizational efficiency. Responsibilities
Develops and presents customized financial and estate plans based on client data and goals. Supports relationship managers with visual materials and planning tools to deliver holistic wealth solutions. Assists in creating or updating seminar content as needed. Offers expert guidance on complex planning scenarios and techniques. Responds to technical questions from business partners and conducts research to support accurate, informed advice. Contributes to the development of articles, client communications, and marketing content. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal teams and business units. Shares project updates and participates in special projects to ensure alignment and team collaboration. Analyzes and designs systems or processes to meet business needs. Identifies opportunities to improve performance standards and workflow efficiency, ensuring compliance with Bank policies. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of financial planning, tax laws, and wealth management products. Demonstrates expertise in estate planning, retirement, education funding, and trusts. Engages in professional development. Supports vendor oversight to ensure service levels and delivery commitments are met. Helps resolve performance issues and identifies ways to reduce costs and improve system efficiency. Performs other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, law, or related field; JD or LLM preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered. Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience, with estate planning experience strongly preferred. Ability to interpret financial data and analyze financial statements accurately. Knowledge in income, gift, and estate tax laws; estate and financial planning tools; fiduciary duties; investment products; markets; and portfolio management. Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office, and financial planning software. Knowledge of Bank systems is a plus. Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a team, meet deadlines, and work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
