JOB DESCRIPTION: Tandem Interactive is looking for a hands-on SEO Director to lead our growing SEO department. This role is ideal for a leader who not only brings strategic vision but also enjoys staying actively involved in day-to-day execution. From auditing websites and building strategies to mentoring team members and presenting performance to clients, this role is a blend of implementation, leadership, and collaboration. We’re looking for someone as passionate about the craft of SEO as they are about guiding and developing a team. You’ll be supported by a group of competent, motivated specialists, but your voice and expertise will set the tone for performance, innovation, and long-term success. This is a high-impact role designed for a leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited to help shape the future of the department, our agency, and our clients’ success. This position is an IN OFFICE role at our Downtown Fort Lauderdale location, 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: ●Developing and executing advanced, data-driven SEO strategies that drive measurable results in traffic, rankings, and conversions. ●Leading, mentoring, and supporting SEO team members across all levels, including interns, assistants, specialists, leads, technical SEOs, and managers, fostering skill development and continuous growth. ●Identifying and resolving technical or strategic roadblocks, providing guidance and actionable solutions to ensure team and client success. ●Collaborating closely with agency leadership to assess team performance, implement process improvements, and align SEO strategy with broader business goals. ●Monitoring search trends, algorithm updates, and industry changes to ensure Tandem Interactive’s strategies remain innovative and forward-thinking. ●Analyzing competitor landscapes and website performance to uncover strategic growth opportunities. ●Translating complex SEO findings into clear, concise reports that communicate performance and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders. ●Managing client communications, including strategy presentations, performance updates, and demonstrating the value and ROI of SEO initiatives. ●Ability to build compelling SEO presentations and strategic documents such as audits, roadmaps, and quarterly or annual business reports and planning decks. ●Leading the development and implementation of both long-term and short-term SEO roadmaps aligned to client KPIs and business objectives. ●Reviewing and evaluating daily reports from SEO managers to assess overall performance and strategy execution of the department. ●Overseeing SEO strategy execution across a range of marketing initiatives, including lead generation, website optimization, content strategy, branding, local SEO, PR, and UX improvements. ●Ensuring all SEO projects are appropriately scheduled and resourced in collaboration with SEO managers and Tandem Interactive’s leadership team. ●Actively problem-solving and supporting SEO managers by removing roadblocks and providing guidance aligned with team and client goals. ●Representing Tandem Interactive at industry events, conferences, or webinars to stay current on trends and maintain a strong presence in the SEO community. Qualifications and/or Requirements: ●Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a relevant field. ●5+ years of experience in SEO, with a proven track record of successful SEO implementation and management. ●3-5 years of agency experience ●Demonstrate leadership and team development skills, with experience mentoring SEO professionals across varying levels of expertise. ●Proficiency in key SEO platforms and tools such as GA4, Search Console, SEMrush, GBP, etc. ●In-depth knowledge of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, SEO best practices, and familiarity with a variety of CMS platforms - WordPress, Wix, Webflow, Shopify, etc. ●Proven experience managing client relationships, presenting strategies, and communicating SEO performance to stakeholders. ●Solid understanding of technical SEO elements, including site architecture, indexing, crawlability, Core Web Vitals, and structured data. ●Comfortable collaborating with developers, content teams, and designers to ensure cohesive implementation of SEO strategies. ●Familiarity with schema markup and structured data implementation ●Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. ●Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ●Strong attention to detail, organization, and interpersonal skills. ●Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines. ●Ability to quickly research, absorb, and process large amounts of information. ●Self-motivated, dependable, punctual, and resourceful. ●Must be fluent in English. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: ●Experience managing multi-location SEO or local SEO strategies at scale ●Experience integrating SEO into full-funnel marketing strategies (e.g., content marketing, PPC, CRO) ●Background in or strong understanding of UX/UI best practices and their SEO implications ●Google Analytics certification or other relevant industry certifications (e.g., SEMrush, BrightEdge, HubSpot) JOB TYPE : Full-time SALARY : Based on experience BENEFITS : ●Flexible spending account ●Paid time off SCHEDULE: ●Monday to Friday EDUCATIONS: ● Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field EXPERIENCE : ●5+ years of overall SEO experience with a strong focus on technical SEO, including auditing, troubleshooting, and implementation. ●3+ years of agency experience in a leadership role ●3+ years of management experience leading, managing, or mentoring an SEO team.
