12 Fixed Term End Date (if applicable): Job Purpose: Manages programmatic administrative activities for students and faculty in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Develops and Coordinates systems and processes to ensure programmatic success and compliance with local/state/federal rules and regulations. Essential Functions: 45% - Academic Planning
Develop semester classroom schedules in university system- ACES by applying esoteric knowledge of student cohorts and progression plans, faculty expertise/availability and working with central offices balance school and university needs. Coordinate with the University Core to manage pre-enrollment of nursing students in core classes. Creates and manages database of BSN cohorts along with tracking of satisfactory progression via grade checks and readiness for graduation. Liaises with Student Affairs Committee (SAC) for students not meeting BSN progression standards. Work with publisher reps and faculty to research, create, and upload BSN textbook list to GU Bookstore per schedule of the bookstore. Works with online vendors to ensure the curricular needs of program are supported. Supports the BSN faculty with room scheduling for student orientations, including creating a master course calendar and rollover of course syllabi for each term. Assists the faculty with exam administration including coordination with the Academic Testing Center. Works with outside vendors (e.g Kaplan, publishers, uniform supplier) to coordinate the attainment or management of products and services provided. Coordinates student program orientation including welcoming/training/supporting prospective and new students. Provides general BSN faculty support as needed and as determined by BSN Program Director. Assists BSN Academic Advisor with 8/9 semester planning process and communication. Serves as a resource and backup for advising questions/issues. Works with the Registrar’s office to coordinate the review and approval of transfer credits to assist students in meeting program requirements.
40% - Business processes and technology
Supervises and trains new staff, faculty and work study students on use of all services and programs available to faculty and staff. Coordinates and liaises with IT for set up of access to all required systems (e.g. Kaplan, Core, Osmosis, Canvas, etc). Maintains accurate electronic student files for all BSN students, former and current. Creates and manages workflow and business processes and provides training to stakeholders for greater efficiency of the department. Manages and maintains accurate records and student databases and performs various analyses to report data to leadership as is required per local/state/accrediting agency guidelines (including developing/implementing surveys). Manages programmatic communication and maintains key document storage. Supports various councils/committees including meeting scheduling and logistics, agenda preparation, minute-taking, archiving, follow-up reminders, etc. Supervision and project management for work study students. Collaborates with Budget Officer to manage/maintain physical work environment of Tilford 2nd & 3rd floors.
10% - Student Services
Liaises with prospective and current students (and their families) to answer questions, provide resources and troubleshoot issues. Assists with student progression planning and monitoring of grades and requirements for progression and graduation. Assists students with completing post-graduation documentation related to NCLEX in states other than Washington.
Additional Duties as Assigned by the Department Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience Years of Related Experience Requirement: 1 year In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education. Preferred Qualifications: Healthcare background or experience. Higher Education background or experience. Physical & On-Campus Requirements: In-Office Presence - Ability to work on-site in typical office setting and participate in in-person meetings with colleagues:
