Manufacturing Controller

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and driven Manufacturing Controller to lead our cost accounting and financial operations in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant accounting, including project and standard costing, inventory management, and internal controls at three separate facilities, while supporting Chief Operating Officer and Business Unit Leaders as well as driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costing systems, including material, labor, and overhead costs. Support accurate project/job costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting. Monitor and report on manufacturing performance metrics, including cost per unit, yield, and scrap. Inventory Management Manage and reconcile inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventories. Ensure proper accounting for inventory movements and adjustments. Collaborate with operations to reduce inventory write-offs and improve accuracy. Work with production and procurement to improve Inventory turns Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting Lead plant-level budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with operations and finance. Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, operational KPIs, and management reports. Support financial planning and decision-making with clear, actionable data. Internal Controls & Compliance Maintain and improve internal controls related to inventory, costing, and manufacturing transactions. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies; support internal and external audits. Drive control improvements as the company scales operations and expands systems. Process Improvement & Leadership Champion continuous improvement initiatives in financial and operational processes. Work cross-functionally to support lean manufacturing efforts and operational efficiency. Mentor and develop finance/accounting staff within the manufacturing function Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 10+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting and inventory control. Extensive knowledge of standard costing, project costing, and manufacturing KPIs. Strong ERP experience Proficient in Excel and financial analysis tools.
