Electronics Hardware Repair Technician ( Debug Technician)

Job Summary:
Seeking a mid-level Electronics Hardware Repair Technician with proven hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing electronic circuit board assemblies. This is not an IT help desk position. Candidates must have direct experience working with physical hardware and component-level troubleshooting. The role supports production diagnostics and repair operations in a high-paced industrial environment. Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair functional test failures at the component level (power, signal, network issues) on circuit board assemblies. Utilize electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers to identify faults. Interpret and work from assembly documentation including schematics, BOMs, engineering change notices, test procedures, and visual aids. Assist in root cause analysis and recommend process improvements for test and diagnostic efficiencies. Maintain quality standards by minimizing engineering and component hold inventory. Work collaboratively with test engineering and production teams to meet process yield and throughput targets. Follow all established safety procedures, workplace rules, and security protocols. Perform additional duties as assigned based on department needs. Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in hardware repair, troubleshooting, and board-level diagnostics. Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals including signal flow, voltage, current, and component function. Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and test equipment. Familiarity with Linux command-line tools (mid-level proficiency required). Ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation. Basic data analysis skills to identify trends and recurring failure patterns. Comfortable with reading and writing basic technical correspondence. Ability to follow established procedures with attention to detail and consistency. Education and Experience:
Technical diploma or associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent military or hands-on experience in electronics repair considered. Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and move within the production area for extended periods. Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting of objects up to 35 pounds. Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to dust and ambient noise.
