The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for our patients, providing essential administrative support to ensure smooth operations within the practice. This role requires excellent customer service skills, organizational abilities, and a friendly demeanor to create a welcoming environment for patients. Key Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors warmly, whether in person or over the phone, and assist with inquiries. Log patient arrivals accurately in the Practice Management System (EMR). Confirm patient identities by verifying names and dates of birth and create accounts for new patients. Prepare and organize necessary paperwork for patient appointments. Contact patients who missed appointments to reschedule and document these interactions. Enhance patient satisfaction through efficient appointment scheduling and responding to questions. Promptly attend to patients in distress, exercising sound judgment. Update and verify patient information and insurance eligibility in the system. Maintain a tidy and organized reception area. Collect patient copays and outstanding balances during check-in and check-out. Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to all applicable policies and procedures. Support team goals and objectives by contributing positively. Provide high-quality customer service in all patient interactions. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, providers, and colleagues. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Practice Manager.
