Research Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery And Sports And Medicine
A full-time Research Assistant position is available in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC), Kansas City, Kansas. This individual will work on funded research projects in an orthopedic research laboratory at KUMC. Key Roles And Responsibilities
Complete required biomedical research training and human subjects research training and maintain valid training records. Assist with human tissue collection for laboratory analysis, which includes obtaining informed consents from human subjects through interacting with patients and clinicians. Assist with research data analysis and management using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software relevant to ongoing research projects. Participate in general laboratory experiments including tissue/cell culture, immunostaining and microscopic analysis, Western blotting, DNA/RNA isolation, RT-PCR, animal procedures, animal tissue collection, and other assigned tasks. Participate in research presentation. Participate in preparation of manuscripts and grant applications under the PI's direction. Assist with laboratory management. Hourly Compensation Statement: The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above. $22.66 - $32.85 Minimum $22.66 Midpoint $27.75 Maximum $32.85
