Director of Recruiting (Law Firm Partners and Associates, General Counsel, In-House Counsel)

Seeking a Top Litigator that wants to go In-House! Our client, a public staffing and workforce management company, is looking for an experienced litigator to handle its general liability and employment litigation. This attorney will manage both pre-litigation and litigation for the company. The role requires a strong litigator with great writing skills who is well organized and can work independently across multiple complex projects.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage general liability and employment litigation and pre-litigation matters.
  • Manage and participate in legal proceedings involving the company, including administrative proceedings, negotiations, and arbitrations.
  • Review and draft pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and agreements.
  • Analyze contracts and impacts on litigation.
  • Prepare case strategies, document discovery, case budgets, and timelines.
  • Interview internal witnesses.
  • Participate in hiring and overseeing outside counsel.
  • Identify and resolve pre-litigation risks and prepare risk assessments.
  • Confer with various businesses regarding litigation matters and impacts.
  • Analyze new and existing laws and regulations and relate to operational procedures, company policies, and industry trends.
  • Work with legal department to proactively identify and address key legal issues.
  • Travel estimated at 5-10%.

Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of relevant litigation experience with a firm and/or in-house.
  • J.D. from accredited U.S. law school.
  • Bar admission in U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience with California employment law (wage & hour and single-plaintiff) preferred.
  • Employment law experience preferred.
  • Subject matter knowledge and litigation experience in several of the following areas: tort, employment, insurance coverage, commercial litigation, contract disputes, appellate law.
  • Strong communication, analytical, legal writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated risk-assessment skills and an ability to see bigger picture to determine effective case strategies.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure. Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Strong consultative approach to advising the business.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams) and Westlaw.

Compensation Range & Offered Benefits :

  • $140,000 – $163,000, plus annual bonus eligibility.
