nnEnvironmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHSS1):n
nStrategic Planning Services for Environmental Compliance
n- n
- Develop plan and initiate discussions with HR and functional teams on training needs n
- Support Quality Environmental Team with Environmental legal updates n
- Support HR with communication to sites relevant EHS requirements as legislation changes n
Specialized Services
n- n
- Ensure compliance to NFPA standards that are specifically focused on the powder coating industry by evaluating environmental performance and compliance to the regulations and acting as needed. n
- Maintain the list of laws and report compliance obligations and results of compliance monitoring to top management. n
- Implement and control fire and explosion protection devices, equipment and processes. n
- Stay up to date on all standards, regulations, codes and procedures for fire and explosion protection. n
- Implement training programs and procedures specific to fire and explosion protection. n
- Implement and monitor combustible dust and combustible metals control programs. n
- Monitor and evaluate training competency of workers. n
- Noise assessments using sound level meters to implement and comply with hearing conservation program. n
- Conduct personal air sampling using threshold limit values and equipment. n
- Responsible for Respiratory Protection Program. n
- Perform respiratory fit testing. n
- Lead chemical exposure control programs. Specifically, to toxic substances. n
- Responsible for compliance to TIGER 7S and LEAN programs in terms of Health & Safety n
Responsible for providing process training specific to:

- Onboarding health and safety training n
- Emergency preparedness and response n
- Lock out tag out policy and procedures n
- Spill response, cleanup and containment n
Ensure Compliance with Legal Requirements
n- n
- Research legislation and environmental laws, regulations and standards for TDC n
- Serve as a liaison with external bodies n
- Implement actions through training, orientations, meetings n
- Participate in providing direction and ensure compliance with policies and procedures n
Health & Safety Services
n- n
- Serve as Leader of the health and safety committee n
- Participate in providing direction and ensure compliance with H&S policies and procedures. n
- Handle health & safety communications for TIGER Drylac USA and work in conjunction with NA HS local representatives n
Management Services, in conjunction with People & Culture
n- n
- Ensure paperwork and reports for workplace accidents and injuries are initiated and completed by sites in timely manner n
- Serve as liaison with external bodies n
- Assessing return to work requirements n
- Monitoring employee on return-to-work program n
- Handling related administrative requirements, when needed n
Training Services – Environmental Compliance and Health and Safety TDC
n- n
- Develop and conduct training or train the trainer modules, in conjunction with People & Culture n
- Evaluate learning and training needs n
- Liaise with managers in follow up and identify gaps n
Hazard Assessment Services
n- n
- Anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control hazards n
- Support incident investigations n
- Conduct ergonomic assessments n
- Conduct root cause analysis n
- Industrial Hygiene assessments n
- Emergency response programs n
- Conduct worker exposure assessments n
- Determine corrective and preventative action to be taken n
- Prepare reports n
- Monitor corrective actions n
Conduct Audits
n- n
- Conduct audits for environmental, health & safety and 7S n
- Objective audit system is used n
- Participates in closing meeting with managers n
- Reports prepared, when needed n
- Monitor and communicate progress of corrective action n
- Proactively communicate results with senior management n
Liaise with External Legislative Bodies
n- n
- Serve as point of contact for environmental compliance (added) n
- Co-ordinate external compliance audit requirements n
- n

- Onsite - Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm n
- Work alongside Production schedules (day, afternoon and night shifts occasionally as needed) n
- Travel to other locations (Canada and Mexico) as required - up to 10% travel n
- Required to climb stairs, ladders n
- Light lifting up to 50 lbs. n
