full-time Stationary Engineer, DC 3rd Class
for a large campus in Washington, DC. The
3rd Class Steam Engineer
is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of steam generation systems, ensuring compliance with DC regulations and standards. Responsibilities include monitoring equipment, conducting chemical analysis, maintaining logs, troubleshooting, and supporting plant operations. All shifts are available. Salary ranges from $34.61 to $45.43 per hour depending on experience. Operate and monitor equipment for safe plant operation Read gauges, record activities, and analyze system trends Use computerized systems for plant control Perform inspections and preventive maintenance Conduct chemical analysis and maintain logs Adjust chemical treatments to optimize systems Develop and improve SOPs Ensure compliance with laws and safety protocols Troubleshoot and repair systems Serve as a technical resource for the team Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Valid DC Class 3 Steam Engineer's license At least 5 years of steam plant experience Knowledge of DC regulations and preventive maintenance Proficiency with monitoring systems and MS Office Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills EOE, including disability/veterans.
