Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Junior Auditor to support the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - Office of Finance (OF). The Office of Finance manages VHA's financial resources for Veterans' healthcare. Continuous improvement is achieved through the full cycle of healthcare budget and accounting activities within a large financial community and external partnerships. Position Responsibilities: Support adherence to Federal, State & Local Financial laws, regulations, and activities. Gain operational experience supporting a large financial organization with financial and accounting tasks, such as analysis and interpretation of accounting and audit policies. Assist in planning and executing financial and performance audits under the supervision of senior auditors. Support the implementation of financial and acquisition systems. Assist with internal and external audits, reviews, and related activities. Perform fieldwork activities such as testing internal controls, reviewing supporting documentation, and verifying transactions. Analyze data and prepare reports and summaries. Review records and financial data for compliance with federal laws and VA policies. Identify trends, irregularities, or risk areas and escalate findings to senior auditors. Help develop tools and reports to assess risk, reconcile data, and report on financial health and audit performance. Ensure accurate and complete documentation to support audit conclusions. Draft sections of audit reports, including observations, analyses, and initial recommendations. Perform other duties as assigned.
