Overview: We're seeking a skilled
Network Engineer II
to design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable enterprise network infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring performance optimization, security, and compliance with standards like
CMMC Level 2
and
NIST 800-171 . Ideal candidates will thrive in regulated or manufacturing environments and be comfortable operating independently while collaborating across teams.
Key Responsibilities: Design & Implementation (30%) : Develop secure, scalable IT network solutions aligned with business and compliance needs. Maintain architecture diagrams and engineering documentation. Maintenance & Monitoring (25%) : Monitor network performance and health using enterprise-grade tools. Conduct proactive maintenance and ensure adherence to change management protocols. Security & Compliance (25%) : Implement firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and enforce network segmentation and access controls. Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks like CMMC and NIST. Troubleshooting & Escalation (10%) : Serve as the escalation point for advanced WAN, LAN, and VPN issues. Lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews. Documentation & Mentorship (10%) : Maintain audit-ready documentation and mentor IT staff on best practices and tooling. Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure-focused IT roles Strong understanding of Ethernet, WAN, LAN, VPN, access control, segmentation, and network security Proficient with routers, switches, firewalls, and network monitoring tools Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications such as
CCNP, PCNSE, NSE , or equivalent Experience with platforms such as
Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto Familiarity with SIEM integration, configuration management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CMMC) Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs of equipment occasionally Regular use of hands, sitting, standing, and visual work with hardware and screens Work Environment:
Office-based with occasional travel to facilities or data centers as needed
