The Impact Youll Make in this Role As a Controls Lead Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Providing leadership and guidance to Controls Engineers responsible for initiating, performing, and leading change activities throughout the site Providing strategic direction for the systems supported by the Controls Engineering team Developing and implementing a strategy to maintain, upgrade, or replace legacy technology platforms Identifying, developing and implementing systems that support and enable continuous improvement in all operations at Cottage Grove, including OEE improvement and streamlining dataflow Applying their own technical expertise to provide solutions needed to support day-to-day site operations and improvement projects Actively engaging in process hazard analysis (PHA) and safety, environmental and quality reviews to keep colleagues safe and meet regulatory and plant standards Participating in root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing high-level countermeasures improving equipment performance Supporting a dynamic 24x7 operation through a willingness to be on-call Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelors degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) Five (5) years of experience in a technical role in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment Three (3) years of experience in a controls and automation or inspection role Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams Ability to navigate through ambiguity and change Extensive knowledge of plant technologies and platforms Proven track record of project leadership skills Work location: Cottage Grove, MN Travel: May include up to 5% Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status). The expected compensation range for this position is $164,612 - $201,193, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidates relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
