BCG Attorney Search
A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join its Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation and Pre-Litigation Practice in Kansas City, MO. This in-office role offers attorneys early in their career the chance to gain hands-on litigation experience and exposure to pre-litigation case development. The position involves working closely with seasoned attorneys to learn all aspects of personal injury law, including case investigation, negotiation, discovery, and courtroom advocacy.
Duties
Conduct legal research and evaluate cases for claim viability. Gather medical records, police reports, and other evidence with case managers. Engage in client consultations and keep clients informed about case progress. Draft demand letters and negotiate settlements with insurance companies. Collaborate with attorneys and medical experts to assess injury causation and damages. Take and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, and opposing parties. Draft discovery requests, pleadings, and motions. Argue motions in court and handle motion practice. Develop litigation strategies with senior attorneys and prepare for jury trials. Communicate regularly with clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel. Attend court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences. Requirements
1-3 years' experience handling personal injury cases, including pre-litigation and litigation. J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license in good standing. Bar licensure in both Illinois and Missouri required. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Experience handling courtroom motion practice is preferred. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Education
