Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with BLS and ARDMS credentials for an acute care assignment, where strong vascular and OB ultrasound experience is needed. Responsibilities Position is in an acute care hospital ultrasound department with 2 roomsDaily caseload averages 10-15 ultrasound studies, including a significant number of OB and vascular casesProcedures utilize Philips Epiq Elite ultrasound devicesFirst shift starts at 7:00 AM, with last shift ending at 3:00 PM or 1:30 PM depending on day, and 8-hour varied start timesCall required from 11:30 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday to Thursday and from 11:30 PM to 7:00 AM on Friday and Saturday nightsSome holiday coverage and call may be needed, especially for call-outsEMR systems used are Cerner and McKesson PACS, with API Team for schedules and timecardsDepartment sees a high ER volume and a wide variety of patient cases including OB, vascular, and generalCandidates with skills in thoracentesis or paracentesis preferred but not requiredScrub color is tealOrientation includes 3-4 unit-based shifts and 12 total hoursUse of Trophon for probe cleaningNo high-risk OB patients, but high overall OB study volumeReturning travelers may not have been directly employed by the health system within the past yearLocal candidates are accepted, with distance/stipend rules as applicable to select states Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Tech in an acute care settingCurrent BLS certification requiredActive Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Abdomen (RDMS-AB) and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-OB/GYN (RDMS-OB/GYN) required; RVT preferredAbility to perform a range of studies including OB, vascular, DVT, carotids, scrotum, transvaginal, abdomens, pelvis, kidneys, and baby brain bleedsMust be able to properly measure cervical length and perform viable fetus checksExperience with Cerner and McKesson PACS charting preferredActive state license required if applicable; pending licenses are not acceptedDriver’s license and two references (one supervisor from past 12 months, one peer or supervisor from past 3 years) required for consideration Benefits High Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 OptionsGenerous Housing AllowanceNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUs401(k) PlanTraveler Rewards and DiscountsTravel and Licensure Reimbursements
