The AWS Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) is seeking a talented Front End Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design and develop engaging web applications that enhance our scientists' capabilities in data management and workflow visualization. Collaborating closely with Software Development Engineers, Research Scientists, and Technical Program Managers, you will craft frontend solutions tailored to the unique challenges of quantum computing research and development.
Your contributions will have a meaningful impact on the efficiency of our quantum device design, fabrication, and testing processes. Here's what you will be doing:
Work directly with scientists and engineers to identify challenges and propose effective solutions.
Gather user stories and convert them into comprehensive UX and software design documents, balancing complexity and timely delivery.
Implement design proposals in a logical and maintainable manner.
Take ownership of software stability and quality, identifying, proposing, and integrating features that will advance our quantum computing efforts.
We are looking for candidates with strong engineering principles, resourcefulness, and a bias for action. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential. A genuine curiosity and eagerness to understand our researchers' domain is also a must. Teamwork is crucial, as you will be part of a research-centric environment aimed at developing fault-tolerant quantum computers.
Example projects include:
Creating a web application for configuration management of experimental apparatus.
Improving user experiences for technicians conducting QA on device fabrication products.
Developing intuitive user interfaces for fabrication process management tools.
You will be joining the Device Lifecycle software development team at the AWS Center of Quantum Computing, a group dedicated to scaling quantum computing technologies.
