This position requires a legal professional with 8 years of experience handling patent-related matters, including prosecution, litigation support, portfolio management, and IP strategy. The role is ideal for an attorney with strong technical insight and the ability to counsel clients on protecting innovative technologies.
Duties
Manage domestic and international patent prosecution matters Advise clients on patentability, infringement, and freedom-to-operate issues Draft and prosecute patent applications across various technology sectors Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and licensing deals Develop and implement intellectual property protection strategies Provide legal support in patent litigation and enforcement matters Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and in-house legal teams Analyze and manage patent portfolios for clients across industries Requirements
8 years of experience in patent law Demonstrated expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications Strong background in intellectual property strategy and portfolio management Experience working with clients in technology or scientific industries Admitted to practice law in Utah or eligible for reciprocity Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field Certifications
Active license to practice law in the state of Utah USPTO registration required Skills
