is looking to hire a Transportation Specialist I who will play an important role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the LTL, FTL, and parcel shipments for all Toyo Tires warehouses and distribution centers located nationwide. This position will require strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work within a team.
This position is located in Ontario, California .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Follow carrier rules and guidelines for proper shipment handling Plan and coordinate LTL, FTL, and Intermodal Rail and Parcel shipments using "Traffix/3G" (TMS) Schedule delivery appointments when applicable for planned shipments Monitor and maintain YMS system Process customer tracing requests Load building; dedicated routing, multi-stop, regional break bulks Monitor carrier service reports Appointment re-scheduling missed deliveries and secondary deliveries Track replenishment warehouse transfers Track of OE shipments Monitor all transfer shipments Assist CS group with miscellaneous freight quotes Process will-call orders Assist and support EOM/QTR Wise utilization (WMS) Recognize potential freight savings with all orders Advise Transportation Manager of any known carrier or customer conflicts and issues Reporting (Transfer Log, Guard Log, Velocity Report, CS Reports) Other duties as assigned At Toyo Tires, our purpose for everything we do is clear: We make tires people love! This position pays $22.00 per hour.

Possess knowledge of carrier rules for shipping/receiving Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees and management Strong attention to detail needed for SKU order verification and matching Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and other office software Excellent organizational skills. Keep files and work area organized. Manage time effectively and prioritizes completing tasks to meet deadlines Demonstrate a strong ability to work within a team. Reliable, responsible and trustworthy. Must be available to work after normal business hours to complete assigned jobs Ability to follow Company polices and safety guidelines
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of current related work experience in logistics or transportation is required. Tire industry experience is a plus.
