Physician Assistant Studies Program . This can be a tenure-track or clinical appointment at the assistant or associate level, based on experience. This is a full-time position with a consistent salary, regardless of whether the faculty member works a

4- or 5-day week

, depending on their engagement in clinical practice or scholarly activity. Faculty may be granted up to

one day per week of release time

if they are actively engaged in clinical practice or scholarship. For those pursuing clinical work, this release time offers the opportunity to maintain their skills and independently supplement their salaryoften by an additional $20,000$30,000 annually. Faculty who are not participating in clinical practice or scholarly activity are expected to be on campus five days per week. The Physician Assistant Faculty will enjoy many opportunities for inter-professional education as the other members of the School of Health Professions Team become established. These will include Health Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. The faculty member will teach classes in accordance with the schedule of classes and following the approved course descriptions and curricular guidelines. On teaching assignments will include instructional development; academic advising and assisting students; participating in Departmental and University-wide activities; serving on committees and task forces; and other appropriate responsibilities as described in the Faculty Status and Welfare Handbook. Examples of Duties

Key responsibilities will include: Instructional: Teaching, including the preparation of course syllabi and classes, the preparation and grading of examinations/evaluations, the supervision of laboratories and other practica, and the direction of student driven research projects. Academic Advising: Meet with students as needed by appointment. Advise and assist students as determined by program requirements. Maintain general knowledge of degree requirements for graduation from the Physician Assistant Program. Institutional Service: Participation in activities (usually through committee work) designed to advance the mission and quality of the University, School, and Departmental programs, including admissions, curriculum and program evaluation. Attendance at Department, School, and general Faculty and University meetings including commencements, convocations, and other official University exercises. Professional Growth and Development: Maintain NYS licensure and credentialing by the appropriate certifying agency (NCCPA, etc). Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and competence in the appropriate disciplines. Typical Qualifications

Education:

Master's degree or significant experience in lieu of degree and a willingness to pursue a Master's degree. Physicians (MD's and DO's) are also eligible for consideration. Minimum of 3-5 years of medical experience as well as experience relevant to educational settings with particular emphasis on medical education. NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant or Board-Certified physician. Current licensure or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant, Medical Doctor, or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in New York State.
