Associate Network Engineer
This is a hybrid position, both in-office and remote. Position Description: Responsible for the monitoring, configuration, and administration of the Avaya telephony systems. Responsible for the monitoring and configuration of the Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other network infrastructure systems including but not limited to Routers, Switches, Firewalls and Load Balancers. Primary Job Responsibilities: Administers Delta Dental Avaya telephony system. Processes move/add/changes for handsets or call routing needs. Secondary coordinator for network Change and Incident management functions including the security/subnets/Vlans/cabling infrastructure to support DDMI eCommerce and other Internet or internal systems, configuring trunk groups and/or virtual switches for various server systems. Monitors, maintains and documents Data & Voice network infrastructure: Telephony, LAN's, WAN's, Firewalls, Cisco Routers/Switches, Load Balancers and network related security appliances. First responder to all telephony and network related Incidents. Coordinates TCP/IP on the network including tracking of the IP infrastructure and DHCP systems. Assists with collection and analysis of bandwidth monitoring, content filtering, syslog monitoring. Utilizes platform based hypervisors to monitor, tune and/or resolve data network anomalies. Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above. Minimum Requirements: Position requires a bachelor's degree with relevant coursework in computer science, network engineering, or information systems and six months related work experience in network and/or telephony administration with an entry level networking or telephony certification preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. Position requires basic knowledge of the following at varying levels depending on assignments: Avaya Telecommunication hardware and software. Network hardware including: stackable switches, chassis switches, enterprise routers, small remote routers. Network communication protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, etc.), network communication hardware, and network topologies. Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems using independent judgment while communicating effectively with internal and external customers. Position requires the ability to provide on-call support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Occasional travel may be required to some enterprise sites.
