As a People & Culture Generalist at Grn Confections, you'll play a key role in supporting and enhancing our employee experience across all markets. You'll coordinate critical HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive, inclusive culture while ensuring HR operations run smoothly and compliantly. Local candidates with transportation to our Portland site are preferred. This role will be hybrid in our Portland, OR HQ. This position requires a minimum of two days per week onsite at our headquarters, plus time in the Portland production facility a few times a month/as needed. You will need to acquire an OLCC facilities agent card post hire. In this role you will: Own and coordinate the full onboarding and offboarding processes, including scheduling, documentation, systems access, new hire orientations, and exit procedures to ensure a smooth and professional employee experience Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and general support, handling matters with care, discretion, and urgency as appropriate; escalate to the People & Culture Manager when needed Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment by encouraging open communication, addressing conflicts, and providing guidance on employee relations matters Plan, organize, and lead employee engagement initiatives such as team events, recognition programs, and wellness activities that help strengthen connection and morale Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other offerings; assist employees with enrollment, changes, and questions Maintain working knowledge of state and federal employment laws across multiple states, including wage and hour laws, FMLA, and other leave regulations; assist in applying this knowledge to policies and day-to-day practices Contribute to the creation and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and internal documentation, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company values Conduct routine audits and assist in maintaining HR records, files, and systems with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization, from front-line staff to leadership, with a customer-service-oriented and people-first approach Provide consistent, day-to-day support for HR operations including scheduling, communication, tracking, and various administrative functions that keep the department running smoothly Travel to other sites as needed to support onboarding, employee relations, or other in-person HR needs You'll be a great fit if you have the following: Minimum of 2 years of HR Generalist experience with a strong focus on onboarding, benefits administration, payroll support, employee and labor relations, and talent coordination A solid understanding of HR principles, best practices, and employment laws and regulations, bonus points if you have experience working with cannabis regulations Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment A strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability A proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism Proficiency with computers and several kinds of HR software, such as the full Microsoft Office suit and UKG The ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes If you have experience in the cannabis industry or manufacturing environment that is a plus If you have relevant HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR that is a plus!
