Cardiac Renal Unit Stepdown Rn - Nights

Salary: $2470 / Week $3,150 wk./48 hrs. OR $2,398 wk./36 hrs. 36 hrs.-$32 hr. | OT - $75 hr. | Stipends - $1,246 48 hrs.-$34 hr. | OT $68 hr. | Stipends - $1,246 Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request) Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7 On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday. Required Certifications to be Attached Upon Submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS. Minimum Experience Required: 3 years of strong Cardiac/Tele exp, 2 travel assignment, trauma level II experience. Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class) Patient Population: High acuity

Tele/M/S, Cardiac heavy, (Afib with RVR, Afib, flutter, blocks), heart cath without interventions. CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post ablations, dialysis. Skillset: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (TRAVELERS ARE REQUIRED TO PASS TELE TESTS), Initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, etc.). PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), antidysrhythmic (cardizem, tikosyn dosing, amio), nephrostomy tubes. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Unit Information: 32 beds. Ratio: Days 1:4-5; NOCs 1:5-7; CN rarely takes patients on days, but takes an assignment on NOC shift. Unit Strengths: Excellent retention and experience on unit. Manager has been over the unit for 15+ years and has built a strong team! Seeking contracts due to upcoming FMLA for multiple staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care on a progressive care unit. Performs focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs. Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition. Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses. Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions. Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements. Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard. Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment. Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education. Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions. Documents patient's response to nursing and other interventions. Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including establishing priorities. Monitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment. Minimum Requirements: Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices. One year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferred. Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice. Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable. Current CPR if applicable. TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable. Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation). Must meet all federal, state and local requirements. Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site. Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements. Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required. Computer proficiency required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
