Position Summary

This is a temporary seasonal position and is not eligible for benefits, except for sick leave. This position provides technical help desk assistance as assigned. The work performed is highly confidential and sensitive in nature and follows established procedures and general directions; incumbents operate independently and apply established guidelines and alternatives with supervisor's guidance readily available. Examples Of Job Duties

Other duties may be assigned as needed. Supports all City employees with technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems. Responsible for help desk functions including expediting requests to the appropriate information services personnel and tracking help desk requests. Troubleshoots problems with desktop computer systems, software applications, and peripheral devices. Provides Microsoft Office support, including emerging Microsoft/Office 365 solutions. Deploys computer systems by administering images and installing software. Installs and maintains other technology-based tools as assigned. Performs preventive maintenance on desktop computer systems and peripheral devices. Assists with Asset Inventory Tracking. Assists with administering and deploying VoIP and wireless phone systems. Trains users on basic PC software, email, and phone systems. Documents IT processes and assists with optimizing workflows for efficiency. Conducts research on emerging technologies to improve municipal operations. Qualifications

A combination of the experience, education, and training listed below which provides an equivalent background to perform the work of this position. Experience: Two years of education and/or experience which provides sufficient training and knowledge to perform the administrative and technical duties of the job. Education and Training: High school diploma or GED. Associate of technical arts degree in computer information preferred. Licenses or Certificates: Must be able to pass an extensive fingerprint background check. Must possess, or have the ability to possess within one month of hire date, a Washington State driver's license. Work Environment

This position works in an office, and the noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. This position works a regular schedule; however, incumbents may be required to work some holiday, evening and/or weekend hours to respond to emergencies and/or to implement specific projects.
