Club Controller
This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Maverick Golf and Ranch Club, set outside of Fort Worth, TX. Maverick Golf and Ranch Club is seeking a Club Controller to join the Finance and Accounting Department. The Club Controller will direct the financial affairs of the Club and prepare financial statements, with supporting schedules, and financial analysis for the guidance of management. The Club Controller is responsible for the Club's financial plans, the accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with members and vendors, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, internal auditing, and budgetary controls. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees. Key Responsibilities
Maintains the Club's books and ensures that all company transactions and assets are properly recorded. Assists in the preparation of the capital budget and planning including; leasing and other forms of financing, reserves and replacements. Works with the CFO to maintain compliance on all licenses, permits, and any other regulatory requirements. Cash management and treasury functions - including cash flow projection and analysis. Prepares monthly trial balance, club financial statements, along with supporting schedules and other data necessary for financial reports and records. Participates in monthly review of financials with the CFO. Leads and coordinates monthly P&L review meetings with Department Managers (budget vs actual and other KPI's). Assists with providing solutions to improve financial performance. Monthly ledger reconciliation to include receivables, payables, and all club related balance sheet accounts, including, reconciliation of Project club subsidy to club P&L. Responsible for all inventory control functions/transfers related to club operations including creation, documentation, and compliance of Policies & Procedures. Participates in both monthly and quarterly physical inventories/audit for F&B and retail. Reviews & processes Sales & Marketing reports to ensure timely disposition of all charges. Oversees Accounts Receivable and monthly billing of all activity, audit charges and ensures all receipts for accounts have been posted. Participates in annual external audit exercise, as needed. Manages internal auditing programs/routines to ensure records are accurately maintained while consistently following policies and procedures to align with the departments annual external audit exercise. Participates in strategic planning for IT and Accounting for the Club as it grows. Participates in the Club's annual budget process. Works to improve accounting/finance related solutions that involve software applications and related hardware for all administrative/operational functions. Identifies & implements opportunities for expense control. Establishes policies and procedures as needed to ensure compliance and improve performance. Provides exceptional service and communication at all times with members, guests, and team members. Coordinates with or assists other departments, as needed. Any other duties, as assigned. Assists in the management of the HOA. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or business-related field preferred. Five (5) to ten (10) years of work experience in accounting and financial management. CPA and/or MBA in finance or accounting preferred. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial statement preparation. Prior working knowledge of accounting software experience to include Sage/Intaact and TEI is highly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Product Suite. Additional Requirements

Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
