The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You'll support daily living activities, community engagement, and personal development, while advocating for individual choice and dignity. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) within the Home and Community Department, you may provide person-centered support across a variety of settings, including individual homes, community-based programs, Community Participation Supports (CPS), and Managed Care Organization (MCO) services. In all roles, you will uphold our mission to empower and support individuals with disabilities and their families throughout every stage of life. Key Responsibilities May Include: Develop skills and competencies to pursue competitive integrated employment Participate in community learning opportunities focused on training and education for self-determination and self-advocacy Develop skills to navigate the local community, including public and private transportation Develop social networks and connections within the local community Understands, supports, and advocates with people we support by helping them live a life of personal significance Identifies, documents, and shares concerns and successes as appropriate Assists with money management by promoting independence Transports and accompanies people to activities, appointments, and events Assists with activities of daily living (ADL's) Bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and incontinence care, eating and meal preparation, mobility assistance (transfers, walking, positioning) Assists with instrumental activities of daily living (IADL's) (Light housekeeping and laundry, Grocery shopping and errands, medication reminders or assistance, transportation to medical appointments or community events) Completes service documentation/notes on the same day service is provided in accordance with agency guidelines Expected to meet established productivity and billing standards as defined by departmental goals Additional duties as assigned Qualifications No previous experience required

GED or High School Diploma required Must complete Achieva-provided training within specified timeframes Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a reliable, insured vehicle, depending on the business needs.
