Bell Person

The bell person provides our guests with a warm welcome and departure experience. The bell person assists guests with their luggage upon arrival and departure. The bell person ensures that guest luggage is safe while under their care. The bell person shall be proactive in providing service and promoting the hotel amenities to guests. The bell person shall be well-versed in the various hotel amenities, promotions, etc. The bell person is posted at the entrance and near the Front Desk in the lobby. The bell person shall escort guests to the Front Desk whenever possible. The bell person works closely with the AYS and Front Desk Departments to provide prompt and courteous luggage assistance to all guests. While escorting guests to their rooms, the bell person shall inform the guest of the hotel amenities. Once in the room, the bell person shall inform the guest about the in-room amenities. While providing luggage assistance for departing guests, the bell person shall inquire about the guest's stay, the bellman shall invite the guest to return to the hotel. The bell person responds to Hotsos requests for luggage assistance for arrival and departure. For arriving guests, luggage shall be delivered within 10 minutes of registration and for departing guests, the bell person shall arrive within 8 minutes of departure. The bell person handles guest room deliveries, such as newspapers, pre-arranged group amenities, and guest packages. Be courteous. Show genuine care for all co-workers and guests. The ability to work well in a team environment. Proficient in the English language. Second language is an asset. Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Possesses excellent people skills, an energetic personality, and superior listening skills. Has strong orientation towards customer service with a special focus on etiquette. The ability to always be courteous, friendly, and professional. Instills a can-do attitude in all team members and promotes teamwork between departments. Excellent time management skills. Exceptional detail in follow-up. Creative problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly evaluate alternative and decide on a plan of action. Instills a calm, organized approach in all situations. Most of the time spent standing, walking or there are some requirements to lift moderate weight (10-20 pounds). Typically located in a comfortable area. There may be regular exposure to mild discomfort from factors such as dust, odors, extreme temperature, inclement weather, noise, or lights. While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to walk, stand, and sit. The associate will occasionally be required to climb and use balance. Additionally, the team member will frequently be asked to use hands and arms carry and lift items. Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this job, the team member may experience temperature fluctuations and moderate to high levels of noise. The team member will also come in contact with noxious and abrasive chemicals that must be handled properly to ensure the safety of the team member and others.
