The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating daily shipments between suppliers and customers. Responsibilities include quoting freight, booking and tracking shipments, creating documentation, and resolving issues across the supply chain. This position plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate logistics operations while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Shift Full-time position, standard business hours (some flexibility may be required based on customer needs). Key Responsibilities Quote freight for client projects and accurately create BOLs (Bills of Lading) for new shipments; communicate details with suppliers. Tender shipments to carriers using MercuryGate TMS and manage the booking process from start to finish. Track shipments from pickup through delivery and resolve any misrouted or time-sensitive freight issues; escalate critical matters to the Operations Manager as needed. Maintain high-level, professional communication with both customers and suppliers to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and ensure systems are updated to reflect accurate shipment and financial data. Work Environment Office-based role with regular computer use Collaborative, fast-paced team environment Communication-focused with frequent email and phone interactions with clients and suppliers. Qualifications
Education Bachelor's degree preferred Experience Minimum of 3 years in a related logistics or transportation role Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), preferably MercuryGate Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Background in LTL shipping or general transportation preferred Personality Traits High level of professionalism and customer service orientation Detail-oriented and highly organized Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Proactive problem-solver Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities effectively.
